About Nichter Photography

About Nichter Photography
Karl and I are photographers working mostly freelance, though we have taken on special projects and commissions over the years. We sell our work through select retail outlets, as stock photography, and for publication. Our work has been published both locally and nationally, and we have held gallery exhibitions and shows. We also conduct photography classes, write for traditional media and blogs, develop and deliver nature, history, and travel presentations, and lead themed hikes. Special event photography, photography contest judging, and exhibitions of our work are done by request.

About Karl and Kathleen
Both of us traveled extensively nationally and internationally throughout our lives, both for our professional careers and as tourists, and we have lived and worked in other countries. In addition to our university degrees for our prior careers we are also Interpretive Naturalists, certified as both Florida Master Naturalists, and Certified Interpretive Guides (Nature and Heritage). Karl is a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography. We both did professional/semi-professional photography work at times in the past prior to starting our work together as Nichter Photography.

Where we are now
We continue to follow our passions of nature and photography, yet both of us expanded our focus in various ways. Karl enjoys still life, natural portraits, and black and white photography. I moved to a journalism focus to illustrate my articles and essays, and am expanding into garden and food photography.
