The Chestnut Vendor - London 1986

The Chestnut Vendor

While living in Ireland (as mentioned in the last post) we often took weekends in London. Sometimes the trips involved business, sometimes for a special event, and sometimes just to explore. I took this photograph on a day of soft rain. The cloudiness and light rain made the colors pop and gave an overall softness to the photo. I loaded my Nikon FE, my first professional camera and quite new to me at the time, with Fujifilm which at the time had a reputation of excellent rendering of the green spectrum, perfect for Ireland and London. All camera setting were manual, of course. A print of this photograph decorated nearly every office I had during my subsequent business career.
